THE SAILING SHIP
A Sailing Ship is leaving
Going I know not where
I imagine far off places
To visit and to share.
I observe a restful picture
As it heads right out to sea
Leaving its trail in the water
As if to say “I’m free”.
I so wish I was on board
With the wind upon my face
Listening to the ripples
And moving at the ships own pace.
Watching scudding clouds above me
See Seagulls swooping by
The peace and the tranquillity
Gives such pleasure to my eye.
Perhaps one day I too will sail
To visit lands anew
But in the meantime I’m content
To sit on the shore and just view.
