Thoughtful passage

HOLIDAY TIME

Holiday Time where shall we go?
To escape from all our work and woe,
Out come the brochures to tempt us away
But it all depends on how much we can pay!

Faraway places take lots of cash
In present climes we can’t be rash
So we have a look nearer home
To see where we can tour and roam.

Seaside, Country, Village or Towns
Climbing mountains or walking Downs
We can travel by coach, train or car
To go where we like near or far.

Yes it’s nice to go away far and wide
When we feel the need to go and hide
But often a change is as good as a rest
Away from the comfort of our very own nest.

Here in England we have such choice
And many things of which to rejoice
So give thanks indeed and stop for a while
To appreciate and cherish our very own Isle.

Thoughtful passage

IF

IF the world could stand still for a day

With time to think and time to say

Our deepest concerns of the way life is led

Instead of keeping it all unsaid.

IF people had time to listen and care

To think of others and be aware

Of the needs of people requiring an ear

Which would help to ease worries and fear?

IF we could think how lucky we are

To have made our journey and got so far

Be able to hold our heads up high

And reach our aims before we die.

IF we had time when we get wrought

To stop and give a little thought

To why these problems give us grief

Then we could find our own relief.

IF only people were not so stressed

And thought instead of how they’re blessed

Then the path of life would smoother be

For all the world not you and me.
