"Thoughtful" passage

FORGOTTEN STANDARDS

I can remember not that long ago
People were happy NOT full of woe
They would lend a hand let you sit while they stand
Politeness to all they would show.

But today there’s no time
To hear a clock chime
To offer a smile only once in a while
And close their eyes to this rhyme.

Not long ago we used to care
Our neighbour’s welfare we would share
But I’m sad to say that in present day
These acts of kindness are rare.

There will come a day whatever our creed
When we will all welcome a helpful deed
So let’s open our heart and really start
To see what others may need.

If we do kind acts these will show
A pathway for others to go
So before you pass by don’t close an eye
Let your cup of kindness flow.

SHIRLEYS HUMOUR PAGE

TRAFFIC
When we were young the roads were bare
No rushing traffic from here to there
We were safe on our bikes and going on hikes
The air was pure for us to share.

To go for a walk was absolute pleasure
We didn’t rush we could go at leisure
Stop for the view, enjoy the great hue
Taking memories home just to treasure.

But now that our roads are packed
With vehicles closely stacked
To cross the street we need fast feet
And hope the pavement is not too cracked.

If we meet a friend to have a chat
And start to talk of this and that
We will be accused and often abused
And end up thoroughly got at.

Patience these days is rare
People are busy that’s fair
But a kindly word is not absurd
Just to let people know that you care.

We hope that drivers take heed
And keep an eye on their speed
Cause if we don’t have a car we can’t go very far
And we are not a dog on a lead.

SHIRLEYS HUMOUR PASSAGE

My Men
I have two young men in my life
They relieve my troubles and strife
They give me love far and above
That you get between husband and wife.

Three in a bed is just bliss
We snuggle together and kiss
These moments are treasured and truly measured
And something I never would miss

The trust they show makes me their slave
So I give them whatever they crave
Be it succulent fish on a silver dish
Or whatever else they may crave.

Yes Robbie and Sam are not toys
The love they give has much joy
Although they’re a pain they keep me sane
They are my beloved pussy cat boys.

SHIRLEYS HUMOUR PASSAGE

NO NAME
I know a young man with No Name
Who at times is a bit of a pain?
But he helps me a lot and he’s all that I’ve got
And he keeps me from going insane.

If he offers to help that is great
And he hardly ever comes late
But it can be the morrow followed by sorrow
Cause I’m not that patient to wait.

When I’m in trouble he’s there
To listen, to help and to care
He makes me tea and helps me to see
My problems are given to share.

His memory we know could be better
But he’s thorough right to the letter
If I’m in the wrong he makes a big song
And I have to melt like butter.
Apologies come very rare
And are all from me to be fair
But it’s true to say there will come a day
When I might just pull out his hair.

He comes and goes as he will
And never seems to stand still
But he gets a job done nearly in one
So he’s not yet over the hill!

He tests my patience a bit
But I hold my tongue and don’t spit
I give him a look which he reads like a book
And he knows that it’s time just to flit.
