ODE TO OLD AGE
My brain feels young but my bones feel old
I go to do things and feel so bold
But after a while I just need a rest
I really do think old age is a pest.
My aches and pains I try and ignore
But working them off does not shut the door
My head tells me clearly do have a go
But my furrowed brow I try not to show.
If you are young at heart as well as head
At times it's easier to put AGE to bed
But when shoulders seize up and knees start to creak
You suddenly try common sense just to seek.
Respect on ability is present in us all
And we know that pride always comes before a fall
So if you see us struggling just think it could be YOU
Because I am very sure that you'd try the task TOO!
