TRAFFIC
When we were young the roads were bare
No rushing traffic from here to there
We were safe on our bikes and going on hikes
The air was pure for us to share.
To go for a walk was absolute pleasure
We didn’t rush we could go at leisure
Stop for the view, enjoy the great hue
Taking memories home just to treasure.
But now that our roads are packed
With vehicles closely stacked
To cross the street we need fast feet
And hope the pavement is not too cracked.
If we meet a friend to have a chat
And start to talk of this and that
We will be accused and often abused
And end up thoroughly got at.
Patience these days is rare
People are busy that’s fair
But a kindly word is not absurd
Just to let people know that you care.
We hope that drivers take heed
And keep an eye on their speed
Cause if we don’t have a car we can’t go very far
And we are not a dog on a lead.
